Objective of the Position

Developing novel enzyme-solutions for the synthesis of mRNA-based therapeutics and vaccines. The ideal candidate is an RNA molecular biologist with demonstrated experience in the RNA space and working in cross-disciplinary research teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Adapting the technology of INOFEA to nucleic acids processing enzymes (e.g. DNases, RNA polymerases)

• Developing and optimising enzymes relevant in IVT or other enzymes used in manufacturing processes of Biologics

• Being responsible for the design, preparation, and testing strategies

• Contributing to the design and execution of projects in other fields of Biologics

• Developing and executing enzymatic activity assays to assess the properties of the biocatalysts developed.  

• Writing and reviewing protocols, standard operating procedures, and reports.

• Assuring technical support to our customers with meetings/calls

• Keeping an excellent electronic lab notebook and up to date sample tracking.

• Planning, implementing and completing R&D projects in line with the expectations of customers and management

Key requirements

• PhD in biochemistry or molecular biology with minimum two years of experience in a life science or biotechnology company 

• Hands on lab experience with in vitro transcription, PCR, mRNA analysis, protein analysis and enzymatic assay. 

• Gook working knowledge in relevant analytical techniques e.g.  HPLC, gel electrophoresis and spectrometric analysis for protein and enzymatic activity quantification.

• Energetic, proactive, and collaborative team player with strong interpersonal agility feeding goal setting and achieving agreed targets.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot instruments and analytical assays. .

• An organized working style, eye for detail, flexibility and commitment to high quality.

• Ability to multi-task and coordinate work on several simultaneous projects.

• Ability to collaborate within the team.

• Good knowledge of written and spoken English, German and other languages are an additional value.
