APPLICATIONS

Biologics Manufacturing

The enzymatic synthesis of biologics (including mRNA and ADCs) offers several benefits such as specificity, mild reaction conditions, and high precision. While these advantages are present, challenges such as enzyme stability, low production yield, contamination of the biologics of interest with byproducts, laborious and expensive downstream purification exist. Here is where INOFEA offers solutions.

DNA and mRNA Manufacturing

With our technology, we aim at producing RNA polymerase beads which can be smartly used in batch reactions but also lead to the development of continuous or semi-continuous processes of mRNA in vitro transcription. Additionally, we are developing enzymes beads to be used in the synthetic production of DNA.

Bioconjugates Manufacturing

INOFEA develops enzyme-beads which are applied in enzymatic bioconjugation, e.g., synthesis of antibody drug conjugates. Beside improving the stability of the biocatalyst, INOFEA’s technology allows the production of beads including multiple and different enzymes which are of interest for enzymatic cascade/tandem reactions. INOFEA’s enzymes can lead to the implementation of continuous or semi-continuous production processes improving the downstream purification of products.

Biologics Downstream Purification

In the process of biologics manufacturing, DNases and proteases are widely used to digest the unwanted biomolecules (e.g., enzymes, proteins, template DNA in in vitro transcription, genomic DNA in fermentation processes). INOFEA’s proteases and DNases can be easily separated after completion of the enzymatic process also allowing the implementation of continuous or semi-continuous processes.

Small Molecules - Biocatalytic API Manufacturing

The implementation of enzymes for the biocatalytic manufacturing of API, grants gaining advantages such as reduction of the manufacturing steps compared to chemical catalysis, lower complexity of the manufacturing process (possibility to remove steps of purification), and a more environmentally friendly process. We develop the best-in-class enzymes with improved resistance to harsh conditions (e.g., presence of solvents or chaotropic agents) and with unprecedent acquired enantioselectivity. Our goal is to develop enzymes that can be used in batch reactions and retained or that can be used in continuous or semi- continuous processes.
